After spending several wonderful days exploring Dubai, I realized that what truly made my trip memorable wasn’t just the famous attractions—it was the overall experience. From travelling on the Metro and tasting delicious food to shopping in world-famous malls and walking along the beautiful Marina, every day brought something new.
If you’re planning a trip to Dubai, here’s everything I experienced beyond the tourist attractions.
Getting Around Dubai
One of the things I appreciated most about Dubai was its excellent transportation system.
The Dubai Metro was clean, punctual, affordable, and easy to understand. It connected many popular attractions, making it a convenient option for tourists. Whenever the Metro wasn’t available, taxis were easy to find and comfortable.
For shorter distances, walking around areas like Dubai Marina and Downtown Dubai was also enjoyable because the streets were clean, safe, and well maintained.

Food in Dubai
Dubai is truly a paradise for food lovers. During my trip, I enjoyed a mix of Indian food, international cuisine, and local flavours.
Since Dubai has people from all over the world, you’ll find restaurants serving almost every type of cuisine. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a fine dining experience, there are plenty of options.
One of the best parts was enjoying meals with beautiful views of the city skyline.

Shopping Experience
Dubai is famous for shopping, and I quickly understood why.
From luxury brands in Dubai Mall to unique souvenirs in traditional markets, there was something for every budget. Even if you’re not planning to shop much, simply walking through the malls is an experience.
I also loved exploring local markets where handmade items, perfumes, spices, and chocolates made great souvenirs.

Cleanliness and Safety
One of the first things I noticed was how clean the city was. Public places, roads, parks, and tourist attractions were extremely well maintained.
I also felt safe while exploring different areas, even during the evening. The organised traffic, friendly atmosphere, and clear directions made travelling comfortable.

Hospitality
Throughout the trip, I met friendly hotel staff, helpful shopkeepers, and welcoming people from different countries.
Dubai’s multicultural environment makes visitors feel comfortable, regardless of where they come from.
